Who We Are?
Woman of Purpose International (WOPI) is a Christian organization that works with young girls ages 12 and above, pregnant teenagers as well as vulnerable women in Uganda.
The passion of WOPI is to empower women and girls to overcome their circumstances and fulfill their God- ordained purposes.
WOPI was birthed by Josephine Nsubuga Nambatya, a midwife and professional counselor after years of helping pregnant teenagers who contemplated/tried abortion as well as women in abusive relationships, prostitution and those unable to sustain themselves and their families. She’s joined by a number of women with same passion of supporting the vulnerable girls and women.
WOPI has numerous projects which support girls and women at different levels like The Fortress; a safe home for pregnant teens. GAREP-Girl at Risk Empowerment; Reaches out to girls at risk of teenage pregnancy, abuse, HIV/AIDS. Education project; Sponsors girls to school to be able to get an education and be able to support themselves and their children in future ,Community Outreach;reaches out to women and girls in communities, provides counseling, and self-empowerment projects.
To groom and release women of integrity and courage/valor that will live to their full potential and influence the world around them.
To instill in women the understanding of their God given value and purpose and help them to develop fully above their limitations to achieve maximum impact with their lives.
